Group Rides

We reintroduced group rides in the summer of 2021, and our team has committed to keep them going through 2024 and beyond. We know that different folks are looking for different styles of ride, and so we're turning this space into a list of some of the different options available to folks in the greater Providence area.

Dash Bicycle No-Drop Group Rides On Wednesday mornings, join our no-drop "recovery" rides rolling out from the shop at 7am, sharp. This is typically a twenty-five mile road ride with a pace around 15mph. Helmets are mandatory, lycra is not.

*Wednesday morning no-drop group rides will be back in the spring.

The first Sunday of the month, join us for a slightly faster, free-form road ride into the rural areas outside Providence. These rides are typically in the range of twenty-to-thirty miles, and we'll make adjustments to the route based on how the group feels. In most cases, we'll be finished within two hours. The group will roll out from the shop at 10am (weather permitting). As always, helmets are mandatory and positive attitudes are appreciated.

*No pre-set routes for this ride

OTHER LOCAL GROUP RIDES & MORE

The Smackdown

This is a fast-paced road weekly road ride with a group of experienced racers that can average 25mph or more. The group meets in India Point Park on Tuesdays at 530pm, and road rides give way to cyclocross rides in the fall. This ride is not associated with Dash Bicycle, but it's a fun if you like things spicy.

Providence Bike Jam

This is a once monthly Friday night bike party born out of the Critical Mass cycling advocacy movement. The vibe is fun and inclusive, and the typical ride pace is closer to 10mph, with occasional stops that include dance parties. Basic ride details are always posted on instagram @pvdbikejam at least a day ahead of time, and rides are frequently themed.
