Group Rides

We reintroduced group rides in the summer of 2021, and our team has committed to keep them going through spring 2022 and beyond. We know that different folks are are looking for different styles of ride, and so we're turning this space into a list of some of the different options available to folks in the greater Providence area. @dashbicycle.

Dash Bicycle No-Drop Group Ride
We host no-drop group rides on the first-and-third Sunday of the month, rolling out at 11am. This is typically a twenty-mile road ride with a pace around 15mph. Starting location is the Narragansett Brewery Tap Room in India Point Park, at 271 Tockwotton St. Helmets are mandatory, lycra is not. 

We will be adding the occasional mixed-terrain ride into the mix.

The Smackdown 
This is a fast-paced road weekly road ride with a group of experienced racers that can average 25mph or more. The group meets in India Point Park on Tuesdays at 530pm, and road rides give way to cyclocross rides in the fall. This ride is not associated with Dash Bicycle, but it's a fun if you like things spicy.

 

Providence Bike Jam
This is a monthly bike party born out of the Critical Mass cycling advocacy movement. The vibe is fun and inclusive, and the typical ride pace is closer to 10mph, with occasional stops that include dance parties. The route is always posted on instagram @pvdbikejam at least a day ahead of time, and rides are frequently themed. The group meets at Burnside Park, in downtown Providence, one Friday a month.

Narragansett Bay Wheelmen
The NBW are a local cycling club that has been active in some form since the 1970s. They organize arrowed weekly rides for members, and the annual "Flattest Century in the East."

The cyclocross and mountain biking team for high-school age youth in the city of Providence, established in 2014.
